Chanukonnections Game
Exciting “Chanukonnections” Game for Middle and High School
Chanukah symbol card sheet, cut on dotted lines to make 6 cards
6 copies of the Game Sheet for each team to fill out
pencils
How to play the game:
1. Divide the class into 6 teams.
2. Each team picks 1 of the 6 Chanukah symbol cards.
3. Each team receives a Chanukah Game Sheet and is given 10-15 minutes to fill it out.
4. The Game Sheet lists 4 common objects. (Feel free to substitute the objects listed with the objects of your choice.) Each team needs to find a connection between their Chanukah symbol and the objects listed.

Holocaust Experience Meeting
Here at the Walder Education Pavilion of Torah Umesorah, we have received a tremendous number of requests from educators for a comprehensive Holocaust curriculum appropriate for the elementary grades. A true trailblazer, Mrs. Rouhama Garelick, Director of the Walder Education Pavilion of Torah Umesorah, is breaking new ground with the creation of a Children's Holocaust Museum and Curricular Library. Through the farsighted vision and generosity of Mr. Allan Dworkin, The Pavilion has been given the resources to take on this noble mission.
On Wednesday, November 5th, a committee of experts, led by Mrs. Garelick, gathered to share their vast knowledge and experience for the creation of the Dworkin Holocaust Experience at the Pavilion. Mr. Sam Harris, President of the Skokie Holocaust Museum, Mrs. Ruti Lichtenstein, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Hamodia and Binah Magazine, and Rabbi Shalom Friedman, Director of the Torah Umesorah Holocaust Curriculum, are experts in the field of Holocaust studies and are part of an advisory committee to support the larger committee. Together they will collaborate on the two departments of the Holocaust project. The first department is the Museum Experience, whose goal is to make sure that the information within is accurate and psychologically safe for children. The second department is focused on creating Holocaust curriculum in a box for teachers across all grade levels to bring into their classrooms. Teachers will also be given the opportunity to bring their students to the Holocaust Experience and make studying the Holocaust even more meaningful to their students. We will keep you posted with more news as this project grows.
Other members of the Committee include:
Dr. Walder, Founder and CEO of IDT
Tony Cannon, Physical Project Manager
C.J. Kramer, President of Kol Ram and Project Leader
Phran Edelman, Creative Director of Project
Rabbi Mordechai Raizman, Executive Director of Foundation for Learning and Development

Our New Look
The Walder Education Pavilion of Torah Umesorah has undergone a face-lift. The front entryway is now decorated with stunning bulletin boards designed by Chumie Ray and Tova Miriam Puchovitz. Look no further than the entryway to locate the latest fliers, calendars, and goodies. Each of the trays in front of Esther Merzel’s desk is labeled for your convenience to find the forms you need. Wander into the computer lab and you will see easy to follow directions for saving your work on the computers, as well as for reserving a graphic artist. Head into the hands-on room and browse through the latest machinery in the Machine Center that we have put out for your use with clear directions. Our staff has worked hard to make the Walder Education Pavilion of Torah Umesorah a place where teachers have everything they need at their fingertips. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Die-Cut Donation
Batyah Cohen has graciously donated several amazing die-cuts to enhance our collection. They are: Beehive, Bird, Milk/Juice Carton, Crown, Dairy Group, Meat Group, NO Sign, Bread, Challah, Candlestick & Candle, Yarmulke, Tablets of Stone (Luchos/10 Commandments), Megillah, Seder Plate, and Bee. She has given them in the memory of her grandmother, Tziporah Faigah Bat Leah, who was a master teacher herself and impacted so many lives. We know she will continue to do so through her granddaughter’s generous donation. Thank you, Batyah, these die-cuts will help many teachers enhance their classrooms.
